Waiting On Wednesday! (6)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine.
W.o.W is where you share a book that you are barely hanging on to your marbles patiently waiting on to be published :]

My Pick this week :]

Rogue (Talon #2)
Julie Kagawa
April 28th by Harlequin Teen

Summary (May contain spoilers for book 1): Ember Hill left the dragon organization Talon to take her chances with rebel dragon Cobalt and his crew of rogues. But Ember can't forget the sacrifice made for her by the human boy who could have killed her—Garret Xavier Sebastian, a soldier of the dragonslaying Order of St. George, the boy who saved her from a Talon assassin, knowing that by doing so, he'd signed his own death warrant.

Determined to save Garret from execution, Ember must convince Cobalt to help her break into the Order's headquarters. With assassins after them and Ember's own brother helping Talon with the hunt, the rogues find an unexpected ally in Garret and a new perspective on the underground battle between Talon and St. George.

A reckoning is brewing and the secrets hidden by both sides are shocking and deadly. Soon Ember must decide: Should she retreat to fight another day…or start an all-out war?

Talon (Talon #1)
Julie Kagawa

Summary: Long ago, dragons were hunted to near extinction by the Order of St. George, a legendary society of dragon slayers. Hiding in human form and growing their numbers in secret, the dragons of Talon have become strong and cunning, and they're positioned to take over the world with humans none the wiser.

Ember and Dante Hill are the only sister and brother known to dragonkind. Trained to infiltrate society, Ember wants to live the teen experience and enjoy a summer of freedom before taking her destined place in Talon. But destiny is a matter of perspective, and a rogue dragon will soon challenge everything Ember has been taught. As Ember struggles to accept her future, she and her brother are hunted by the Order of St. George.

Soldier Garret Xavier Sebastian has a mission to seek and destroy all dragons, and Talon's newest recruits in particular. But he cannot kill unless he is certain he has found his prey: and nothing is certain about Ember Hill. Faced with Ember's bravery, confidence and all-too-human desires, Garret begins to question everything that the Order has ingrained in him: and what he might be willing to give up to find the truth about dragons.

Why I'm Waiting: I LOVED book 1, i read it in one sitting!! i highly recommend it for anyone who likes a dragon tale :]

Have you read Talon yet??

Out Today: Feb. 24th.

A Darker Shade of Magic (A Darker Shade of Magic #1)
V.E. Schwab

Grey London is dirty, boring, lacks magic, ruled by mad King George. Red London is where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London is ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne. People fight to control magic, and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. Once there was Black London - but no one speaks of that now.

Shadow Study (Soulfinders #1)
Maria V. Snyder

Oddly enough, when Yelena was a poison taster, her life was simpler. But she'd survived to become a vital part of the balance of power between rival countries Ixia and Sitia. Now she uses her magic to keep the peace in both lands and protect her relationship with Valek.

A Wicked Thing (A Wicked Thing #1)
Rhiannon Thomas

One hundred years after falling asleep, Princess Aurora wakes up to the kiss of a handsome prince and a broken kingdom that has been dreaming of her return. All the books say that she should be living happily ever after. But as Aurora understands all too well, the truth is nothing like the fairy tale.

Homecoming (The Hundred #3)
Kass Morgan

Weeks after landing on Earth, the Hundred have managed to create a sense of order amidst their wild, chaotic surroundings. But their delicate balance comes crashing down with the arrival of new dropships from space.

Unleashed (Uninvited #2)
Sophie Jordan

Davy has spent the last few months trying to come to terms with the fact that she tested positive for the kill gene HTS (also known as Homicidal Tendency Syndrome). She swore she would not let it change her, and that her DNA did not define her . . . but then she killed a man.

Unchanged (Unremembered #3)
Jessica Brody

After returning to the Diotech compound and undergoing an experimental new memory alteration, Seraphina is now a loyal, obedient servant to Dr. Alixter and the powerful company that created her. Happy and in love with Kaelen, another scientifically-enhanced human designed to be her perfect match, Sera’s history with a boy named Zen is just a distant memory from a rebellious past she longs to forget.

Quake (Pulse #3)
Patrick Carman

Faith Daniels and Dylan Gilmore are in love, and they have a special ability called a pulse: they can move things with their minds. They're caught in the middle of a deadly war with two other pulses: Clara and Wade Quinn, who have joined forces with Hotspur Chance, the most wanted man in the world.

The Paper Magician

**I received a free copy of this via NetGallery in exchange for an honest review**

Title: The Paper Magician
Series: The Paper Magician Trilogy #1
Author: Charlie N. Holmberg
Rating: 4.5 Stars

Wow. I wasn't expecting much from this book, but i was wrong.

The MC Ceony is just great. She's stubborn, strong, brave, and can kick some butt. I loved reading from her POV.

The plot was unique, I would've loved to have the other binding described so I understood it more. Being able to bind paper sounds very interesting. Who wouldn't want a paper dog? Hello no picking up poop!

Ceony's adventure through Emery's heart was amazing. It was crazy and there was such good details written about each scene, I felt like i was there. It did drag some thou while she was in the actual heart. I really like seeing the past memories but i didn't need 20 pages of her trying to force herself through cell walls.

It did lack action. I like my books to have some fighting going on, or something along those lines. There was a few scenes but not enough to satisfy my need!

Overall I enjoyed this book, good strong MC and a unique plot. I will continue with the series :]

My Sunday Night :]

Almost Monday, again.
Ugh.

I went out and shoveled the 5 inches of snow that was on my driveway.
I came in and was covered in sweat, it was gross.
I'm freshly showered now :]

Tonight i was be crushing my soul by watching this movie!!

There is a 100% chance of me crying.

While i was taking my personal day on Thursday, i caught up on Downton Abbey. So i'm ready for tonight's episode. But i didn't really think it through when i went on tumblr to find a picture for this, and now i know some spoilers. :/

For those of you who watch this show, this GIF sums up 50% of the show :]

And of course i'll be reading as well :]

   &

I do hope everyone had a good weekend :]

Waiting on Wednesday! (5)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine
W.o.W is where you share a book that you are barely hanging on to your marbles patiently waiting on to be published :]

Vanishing Girls
Lauren Oliver
March 10th 2014 by HarperCollins

Goodreads Summary: Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.

In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.

Why I'm Waiting;
This sounds so good! And all the ARC reviews i've read have been good :]
The cover is great too!

Do you plan on reading this??

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Happy Tuesday :]

I was going to do my usual Out Today post but when i looked at the books coming out today, none of them looked remotely interesting :(

So instead i'm going to share my opinion on 50 Shades of Grey

I haven't read it nor do i plan on reading it, for one simple reason, i do not read Erotica.

Plain and simple.

I also won't be watching the movie, because i don't feel comfortable watching intense sex scenes.

That's all of my opinions on it :]
