Goodread's Bio: Mara Dyer believes life can't get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.
There is.
She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.
My Review:
First i must confess i went into this not even reading what it was
about or having any kind of clue as to what it was about! crazy i know,
but everyone was going cray cray over this and i saw it on my update
feed at least once a week for the past 6 months, so i broke down and put
a hold on it and got it :] which was the best plan ever!
Mara goes though some crazy things right off the bat. She wakes up in
the hospital and finds out her "closest" friends have died in a
terrible accident. she has no memory of what happened thou. you spend a
good chunk of the book trying to figure that stuff out with her!
Mara has PTSD, so though out the book you get to see how that affects
someone. i've never dealt with nor read anything involving PTSD so idk
if how she acts is 100% true, but if it is, i feel crazy sad for anyone
with this! She has crazy visions and hears things. She's being haunt by
her dead friends.
And if you think that's all poor Mara has to deal with, think again! i
won't post any kind of spoilers, but crazy things happen and even
crazier things keep happening!
Mara is written very well. i love her. she's equal parts strong and
sassy, i loved reading about her. Supporting characters of Daniel and
Joesph, Mara's brothers, and her mom and dad are also written well and
they have her back. Her mom is the supportive pillar in her life. Her
dad is a lawyer who takes up a murder case and is getting threats!
Daniel is playing the part of Big Brother amazing. Joesph is the
weirdest awesomest little kid ever!
Love interest Noah!! Lets just say i would leave my real boyfriend for this fictional man!
The last few pages were crazy and i reread the court room scene a bunch of times!
The ending was the best twist i could've thought of and i legit was
driven a little mad trying to think how it could go in the next book!
Overall i'm very pleased with the book and i am very much looking forward to the next in the series.
